Shaykh Bilal is uniquely positioned as both a ‘Magic Circle’ English qualified lawyer and an award-winning Shari’ah Scholar. He serves in an advisory capacity at the Shari’ah Standards Review Committee of the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and as Takaful Panel Member of the International Cooperative & Mutual Insurance Federation. This is after his prolonged Shari’ah education and training with Ijaza (scholarly permission of transmission) from many leading scholars and jurists in different parts of the world including Darul Uloom Karachi in Pakistan which followed his memorisation of the Noble Qur’an at the age of 11 and thereafter gaining many years of experience structuring and drafting first-of-their-kind financial and general products in line with Islamic law.

Shaykh Bilal is also Vice Chairman of the International Panel of Mosaic (The Prince’s Charities) which conducts the International Leadership Program for young leaders from 80 countries in addition to acting as Judge for both the UK Government’s DIT Sirius Programme for graduate entrepreneurs around the world and for the UK Asian Apprenticeship Awards. 

Shaykh Bilal Khan is the recipient of multiple industry awards and recognitions including being a Freeman of the City of London. He has various qualifications including an MBA, MA in Islamic Finance, Legal Practice Course, LL.B (Hons), BA and MA in Arabic & Islamic Sciences. Shaykh Bilal was invited to feature in the television series ‘Secrets of Success’ as part of 20 London-based personalities which is now showing on British Airways Inflight. He was recognised in 2016 as one of eight Positive Role Models for Race, Religion and Faith at the National Diversity Awards 2016 and is a well-known public speaker in international conferences as well as regularly featuring in the media for his expert opinion.
